Pre School Teacher

Laurie is a British Early Years Practitioner, originally from Burnley, UK. She moved to Bahrain a few years ago with her family and fell in love with the beautiful country and people. Laurie began her teaching journey several years ago, after raising her daughter and helping regularly at school events whenever possible. She became fascinated by Early Years Development and how children progress throughout their learning journey. Laurie believes that working closely with a child’s family is very important and well-being is at the centre of everything she teaches.

Shante Horn

Nursery Teacher

Shante is a Nursery School teacher from South Africa. During her teaching career, she has attended various continuing professional development courses. Shante is passionate about Inquiry-Based Learning and supporting children through their developmental milestones. She engages students by making real-world connections through exploration and high-level questioning. This supports participation of children with a wide range of learning styles, while also exposing children to experiences they may not typically seek out. Shante aims to create a positive classroom environment using appropriate teaching methods and techniques to accommodate for all learners.

Matilda Colgrave-Holmes

Pre-Nursery

Matilda is an Early Childhood Teacher that specialise in the learning, developmental, social, and physical needs of young children. She grew up in Bahrain from the age of nine and is originally from Bedfordshire, United Kingdom. Matilda has always had a strong interest in teaching and learning, and from a young age aspired to become an Early Years Teacher. She began working at Etonhouse in 2021 as a trainee and worked her way up to becoming a teacher. She is extremely passionate about childcare and works to facilitate meaningful learning experiences through play, and observe and record child behaviors. Matilda cares greatly about each individual child’s wellbeing and happiness, and she makes a positive difference in the lives of young children.

Fatima Bukhammas

Arabic Teacher

Fatima is an Arabic teacher with several years of experience teaching Arabic to nursery and kindergarten students in several international schools in Bahrain. Fatima enjoys teaching the Arabic language to native and non-native speakers and differentiates her lesson plans to suit the children’s needs. The learning is through an introduction to Arabic greetings, songs, play activities, colours, music, letters, and stories. Fatima facilitates classroom communication and establishes situations and contexts that promote communication in Arabic.
